December 21st, 2009- For Canada’s young table tennis players the Road To Singapore goes through El Salvador.
On the girls side, Lolo Zhao came into the competition as leader of the selection points table. However, the preliminary round robin competition hinted at an upset.

October 3rd, 2009- Beirut, Lebanon – The Canadian table tennis team contributed three medals to Canada’s medal tally at the Jeux de la Francophonie – 2 GOLD and 1 SILVER. Mo Zhang bears the principal responsibility for the success.
Throughout the team event Mo dropped only 1 match – to France’s Audrey Mattenet. In the Singles she completed the competition without defeat.

October 2nd, 2009- The 2009 Para-Panamerican Table Tennis Championships have just ended here in Maragrita Island, Venezuela. 48 year old, Ian Kent of Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia competed in two events : The Open Men's Singles (encompassing class 6-10 standing players), and Kent's event, Class 8.
In the Open Singles Ian received a bye in the round of 64 as a result of his top 16 world ranking. In the round of 32 Ian defeated Paulo Salmin Filho, a newcomer to the Brazillian Team 3-1, then went on to the round of 16 defeating Francisco Weligton Melo, Brazillian #1, 3-0. |
| CANADIAN TEAM CLAIMS GOLD AT THE JEUX DE LA FRANCOPHONIE |  |  |
October 1st, 2009- Pradeeban Peter-Paul and Mo Zhang make up Team Canada at the Jeux de la Francophonie currently going on in Beirut, Lebanon. The team survived some minor scares in the early rounds of the team competition.
However, the first real test would be Belgium in the quarter-finals. The Belgian team took the early lead with Benjamin Rogiers winning against Peter-Paul in the opening match. Then Mo Zhang easily evened the score against Laurence Junker and the deciding doubles was a one-sided affair for the Canadians. |
