| Alberta's Men's Team Converts Home Court Advantage to Gold |  |
July 17th, 2010- Team Alberta upset the two top provinces, Quebec and Ontario to claim gold in the Men's Team competition at the Canadian Championships in Calgary. An enthusiastic crowed cheered the trio of Duan Yongjun, Philip Xie and Calvin Chong to a win over Team Ontario in the finals.
In the women's competition Ontario returned to the top spot on the podium in impressive fashion. |
 | Canadian Team Successful at North American Championships | |
July 4th, 2010- Grand Rapids, MI - Pradeeban Peter-Paul and Mo Zhang confirmed their position as the top table tennis players in North America.
In the Women’s Singles, Zhang Mo cruised through the early rounds without much of a challenge. In the finals, US youngster Lily Zhang put up a good fight but could not stop the Canadian from claiming another North American Singles title. The final score was 4-2 Zhang Mo who secured herself a ticket to the Women’s World Cup, September 24-28 in Kuala Lumpur.

| Close Calls in Toronto | | |
June 20th, 2010- Team Canada had two close calls but could not convert. At the 2010 Maple Leaf Cup hosted by Toronto's, possibly Canada's biggest table tennis club, Canada played equal for most of the encounters against Hong Kong and against a provincial team from Southern China - Guangdong.

May 27th, 2010- 2010 Canadian Championships...a reminder that the entry deadline is June 1st, 2010!
It's that time of the year again - the Canadian Championships are approaching fast. To be held in Calgary, Alberta, the journey will begin on July 11th (to the 14th) with the Junior Championships, followed by the Senior Championships held July 16th-18th. |
| Canadian Teams in Trouble in Moscow | | |
May 25th, 2010- Trouble started with the first match - for both the Canadian men's and women's team.
The women's team started out against Colombia. With the retirement of Judy Long (after the Beijing Olympics) every match was going to be difficult at these World Championships. Canada's #1 had experienced 'first match jitters' and narrowly won her two matches, Sara Yuen contributed the third point for a 3-2 win. |
| Junior National Team Challenge | |
May 9th, 2010- Richmond, BC. The best Canadian juniors were vying for positions on the Canadian Junior team. In the end, Andre Ho (BC) and Anqi Luo (ON) claimed the top spots.
Ho finished the competition ahead of Quebec's Pierre-Luc Theriault and Arnaud Roche-Nadon (QC).
In the Junior 18 girls category, the top three spots went to 14 and 15 year old athletes. Anqi Luo remained undefeated while Shirley Fu (BC) finished second and Ni Ying (BC) third.
